Scurvy is a disease caused by a deficiency of vitamin C, leading to swollen bleeding gums and the opening of previously healed wounds, which particularly affected poorly nourished sailors until the end of the 18th century. A few of the symptoms are; bleeding gums, losing teeth, death, fatigue, internal bleeding, joint pain, breathing problems, and fever. There are still a lot of other symptoms not mentioned. Scurvy is still prominent today in some places where vitamin C isn't available.
